This plant, the genus of worm ferns (Dryopteris) belongs to the family Wurmfarngewächse. At least 150 species are distributed mainly in the northern hemisphere. Many hybrids were also bred in the Victorian era of England, when ferns were very popular for horticulture.
The poster had first been used as a biology training aid. It is about 60 years old and displayed in a German school in Ladenburg, near Heidelberg. It was frequently but carefully handled, and shows a bit of ware (but not much) which is natural for its age and instructional service.
The rod on which the poster hangs is 37.5 inches, the poster poster itself measures 46 x 32.5 inches. The photos amply characterize the poster’s description and its excellent condition.
This poster is a great souvenir of Germany; one which is truly authentic and which had a real function in the nation’s education system.
(I have other plant-related posters advertised under 'Educational Stuff.'
